Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

Is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy right for me?

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is an evidence-based treatment used to help treat a wide range of mental health disorders. CBT has been around for sometime and first established in 1960’s. In my practice, I utilize CBT to treat individuals struggling with depression, anxiety, or trauma. A key components of CBT is to help clients identify and change negative thought patterns which are fueling their depression or anxiety.

Through CBT, individuals learn how to reframe unhelpful thoughts, which can lead to healthier ways of thinking and coping. In therapy, client learn how to examine their thoughts, understand how thoughts impact emotions, and how emotions drive behavior. Clients also develop skills to manage strong emotions, improve problem-solving, and enhance confidence. CBT helps empower individuals to take control over their thoughts in order to create positive change in their lives.
