PTSD Treatment

What is Prolonged Exposure?

Trauma can leave individuals grappling with profound confusion and a deep sense of disconnection from others. Memories associated with the trauma often gives rise to overwhelming feelings of anxiety and fear, and can impact daily functioning. By offering a safe space for healing and growth, I assist clients in overcoming trauma and rediscovering a profound sense of connection with themselves and the world.

Prolonged Exposure (PE) therapy is a type of cognitive-behavioral therapy specifically designed to treat post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). It involves gradually confronting distressing trauma-related memories, situations, and emotions in a safe and controlled manner. By facing these triggers repeatedly and over time, individuals can learn to process and reduce the negative impact of PTSD.

The goal of PE therapy is to help individuals confront and process their trauma, ultimately reducing the severity of their PTSD symptoms and improving their overall quality of life.

It is important to note that PE treatment should only be conducted by trained mental health professional to ensure the safety and well-being of the individual undergoing treatment.

If you or a loved one would benefit from PE treatment, please contact me to schedule a consultation.
